A Quiet Afternoon at Cindy’s Home Gallery | YULIMADE Private Gathering

Last week, We hosted a small private gathering at Cindy’s Home Gallery in San Gabriel — an invitation-only afternoon designed to feel calm, intentional, and deeply personal.

It wasn’t created to feel busy or performative.
There was no rush, no strict schedule, and no pressure to impress.

Just a quiet space to slow down.

For a moment, I wasn’t organizing, planning, or taking care of everyone else.
I was simply present.

And that became the feeling I wanted to share with every woman who joined us that afternoon.

I don’t really think of these as “events.”
They feel more like gentle pauses inside everyday life.

During the gathering, we spent time painting together — something many guests said they hadn’t done in years. Not to create something perfect, but simply to enjoy using their hands again and reconnecting with a quieter part of themselves.

Some guests also wrote small notes or intentions for the months ahead.

Later, we explored scent together.

Through breathing, smelling, and slowing down, everyone was invited to notice what their body and emotions might quietly be asking for — things that are often lost beneath routines, responsibilities, and constant movement.

We ended the afternoon with a short group meditation, allowing the room to settle into stillness.

It was quiet.
Grounded.
Very human.

Why These Gatherings Matter to Me

At one point during the afternoon, someone said:

“Our generation spends so much time taking care of family and responsibilities. We almost never make time just for ourselves.”

That stayed with me.

So many women spend their lives giving:
to children, partners, parents, work, and everyday responsibilities.

These gatherings are my way of creating a small pocket of space where nothing is required of you.

No performance.
No pressure.
No expectations.

Just a moment to breathe again.

That’s really what YULIMADE has always been about for me.

I don’t simply create products or events.
I try to create spaces that allow people to feel something real.

Bringing the Feeling Home

The pieces shared during the gathering were all created slowly and intentionally by hand.

Each one is designed to hold scent — allowing aroma to become part of a quiet daily ritual.

My hope is that when someone wears a piece, or applies a familiar scent, it gently brings them back to that feeling of calm and softness they experienced during the afternoon.

Even if only for a few minutes in the middle of a busy day.

Because sometimes, giving yourself a little space is not indulgence.

It’s necessary.
